Welcome to the

Center for Compassionate Learning

Welcome to my Private Practice for Somatic Psychotherapy.  If you are curious about how to live in well-being, how to be well in this moment, then the work I practice may be of interest to you.  This site is named the Center for Compassionate Learning because all of our lives we are exploring how to do the best we can with what we have.  The practice of compassion for self facilitates an openness to learning and towards well-being.  When we explore we commonly make “mistakes” which help us to learn the next step.  Having a sense of compassion for these “mistakes” internally encourages us to take another step.  There are many qualities we can readily cultivate within ourselves to feel like “I can”.   Going from “I can’t” to “I can” is something that Somatic Experiencing work, created by Peter Levine, can facilitate within you.

My Master’s Degree is from J. F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California; my license is California Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, License #MFC 28591.  I am a certified SEP, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute in Colorado.  The work I do has been developing for thirty years.  I have been working with clients from a wide variety and diversified  aspects of the human spectrum since 1984 in private practice.

The work I do with clients incorporates clinical psychodynamic theories, a variety of spiritual tools, including American Indian, Hindu, Tibetan, Mystical Traditions, Christian and Buddhists concepts.  Art, sandtray, bodywork, visualizations, EMDR, movement, and meditations are all possibilities for play in the therapy room.
